Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by deficits in social communication and social interaction, and repetitive patterns of behavior, interest, or activities which limit everyday functioning.
Currently there has been no treatment shown to cure autism. However, treatments can help manage symptoms of ASD and improve quality of life. Treatments can reduce behaviors that are dangerous and interfere with learning, teach appropriate replacement behaviors, and teach important life skills to increase independence.
